The COVID-19 pandemic has quickly caused significant changes in the lives of USF’s Graduate Assistants. As some of the lowest-paid employees on campus, some of these changes represent disproportionate burdens to our unit, impacting our ability to pay rent, preventing us from doing the research needed for graduation, and leaving us wondering about our futures.
After multiple requests by GAU leadership, the USF administration has finally agreed to our request for an Impact Bargaining session to discuss the changes in USF policy caused by this crisis. GAU’s proposal for how these impacts should be managed can be found here.
This session is open to the public. It will occur on Thursday, May 7th, at 2 pm, and will be hosted via conference call. Please see the official announcement for details on how to connect to the call.
Please join us in solidarity as we negotiate to protect the lives and livelihoods of our fellow GAs!
